Gil-Mar Gives Back

We care about the communities we serve
At Gil-Mar, we believe that it’s essential to give back to the communities where we live and work. And a crucial part of that is making sure that future generations have all of the tools they need to succeed. We are proud to work with organizations that feel the same way we do.
Cornerstone Schools

Helping Kids Grow, Learn and Thrive

We’ve partnered with Cornerstone Schools to help them support their philosophy of helping children grow, learn and lead a fulfilling life.

We are joining forces with Cornerstone on creating their new manufacturing lab, where students will have the opportunity to learn important, marketable, real-world skills. In addition to providing donations of equipment, Gil-Mar personnel will also be working directly with Cornerstone and their students as needed.

We look forward to growing with Cornerstone for many years and expanding our partnership to include other valuable opportunities for their students.

Women Who Weld®

Working to diversify the welding world

We believe that a diverse workforce is a stronger, more effective workforce. And so we’re pleased to be joining forces with Women Who Weld, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching women how to weld and helping them find employment in the welding industry. Just four percent of welders are women — and we want to change that statistic.

Gil-Mar is proud to sponsor educational and training programs through Women Who Weld. They offer an annual six-week training program, along with week-long training classes and single-day workshops all year round. Graduates leave the six-week welding program with an in-demand skill and the ability to join the welding workforce. Women Who Weld’s program boasts a 100 percent completion rate and a 100 percent employment rate post-graduation.

Ted Lindsay Foundation

SUPPORTING FAMILIES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST AUTISM

Our friendship with legendary Detroit Red Wing Ted Lindsay pre-dates the founding of Gil-Mar. So when Ted launched the Ted Lindsay Foundation with the mission of bringing awareness and to apply his resources in the fight against autism, it was a foregone conclusion that we would join him in battle.

When the Ted Lindsay Foundation began, it was believed that one in 166 children were affected with autism. Today, it is estimated that one in 59 children (one in 37 boys) have been identified with an autism spectrum disorder. Ted always said, It is not just the child that has autism, but the whole family. It is not a one person thing.”

Our friend Ted passed away in 2019, but we are just as committed to his enduring legacy through the Ted Lindsay Foundation as a champion for all families affected by autism.

Cooper Standard Foundation

Strengthening Communities

We are happy to be working with Cooper Standard’s charity organization, the Cooper Standard Foundation, which helps support children’s charities, education, health and wellness and community revitalization. In addition to providing financial support, we have donated many items for charity auctions where the proceeds go to very worthy causes including Folds of Honor, Heroes Make America and Next4Vets.
